Freshman year, when facebook was still bare bones and college-only, I wrote a commentary for the Buzzworthy about how facebook would take over the internet, allowing everyone to join, becoming bigger than myspace or any other social networking site and would eventually start adding so many features and capabilities it would threaten our sense of privacy and comfort level sharing info with strangers. It's scary to see how right I was.

Nodressrehersal is feigning outrage while eating a meatball sandwich.

I kinda like it.

Facebook, silly. Yeah, yeah...

But the article was good, too. And the meatball sandwich was outstanding.

Did you know there is a Facebook group dedicated to you?

The first time I asked about Facebook in the classroom (this goes back a few years), a couple of the students mentioned it. And a couple of colleagues were busting my chops about it last year, maybe the year before that. I guess the group members say good things, which is reassuring.

But I have not joined Facebook to check out what the group members say. I've always seen Facebooking as an activity that wouldn't be age-appropriate. I'd feel as creepy on Facebook as I would sitting at the bar in The Burton or the O.P. on a Saturday night. Even here on L.J., I sometimes think I'm learning a little too much about my student friends' lives.
