The news alert from The New York Times hit my email a little before 5 o'clock this afternoon:

Donald J. Trump has called for the United States to bar all Muslims from entering the country for the time being.

Trump has long established himself as a fartmouth who will say anything for attention, so why is this news, and why on earth does it merit a news alert? Does it tell us anything new about him, his character or his approach to the pressing issues of our time?

I didn't think so either.

I suppose I should not be surprised by the number of people who think this is a good idea.

I think we'd both be surprised by exactly how many there are.

It is a truth that one can never argue with an ignorant person. The don't listen to the argument, just pander to the rhetoric... kind of like the debate sometime ago in Olean between John Stengel and Barry Gan. Trump is definitely the best weapon ISIS has...playing right into their hands as he disenfranchises Muslims that follow the true tenets of their religion. If his GOP opponents were smart they would Photoshop Trump with Khomeni in the lobby of Trump Towers and let it go viral.

caption could read , "
Donald Hussain Trump and Ahyatollah Grab Quick Lunch at he Towers."

Man, even Dick "Dick" Cheney—an evil man and war criminal—disagrees with Trump. I never thought I'd see the day where I agreed with anything Cheney said.
