Things

After leaving Cream, the bassist Jack Bruce released a solo album called Things We Like.

With Jack in mind, If the Six is introducing a new feature called "Things We Hate."

Our inaugural thing: Fake Australian accents in television commercials.

TV shows that have actors drinking out of/carrying around what are clearly empty coffee containers. Put some water or something in them - at least try for realistic.

The color wouldn't be right with water, though. I think scotch would be close enough.

Oh I don't mean cups where you can see the liquid. I'm talking about covered paper cups - togo cups. You can't fake a full cup with an empty one. Fill it with anything.

I'd still go with scotch.

It would likely have a lot of very positive side effects.

Ooh, things we hate: People who will not allow themselves to like any song that becomes a pop hit- aka mainstream. It would be ok if they held quiet disdain for such music, but oooooh, noooo, they have to bash it publicly via facebook, twitter, and the like, declaring anyone who finds such music pleasing to the ear to be woefully misguided.

I LIKE the foot-stompin', rollicky sound of Mumford and Sons. I don't CARE that you (not YOU, felixwas) only begrudgingly admit that maybe some of the Decemberists' music is "ok," and if I wanna like the Hanson 1997 hit MmmBop, well there's just nothin' you can do about it. Go ahead, try to resist their youthful charm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHozn0YXAeE

So there.

Sherry listens to Lady Gaga. And Meat Loaf. I don't get it, but what the hell—if she likes it, that's all that matters.

Played "Wasted and Rollin'" on the show yesterday. And some Lucinda Williams. Twang!

There are a few Gaga songs I find catchy, not so sure Meat Loaf has withstood the test of time for me,though. Good twang choices - nice.

I once saw the New York Times refer to Lou Reed as "Mr. Reed." I never looked for references to "Mr. Loaf," though.

The show airs Tuesdays at 1, but they've been having trouble with the streaming service. Tune in if you get a chance.

Anyone in a movie theater with a cell phone who doesn't turn it off.

I can see why that would be annoying. I say "can see" because I haven't been in a movie theater since well before everyone carried cell phones everywhere. Seriously.

people that cross the street using the crosswalk against the light and swear at you because you have the right of way

politicians who replace representation with ideology, and believe they represent their constituency in a fair and balanced way

I have an array of gestures for people who piss me off in any way when I'm driving.

As for your second gripe, I say this: Tom Reed.
