'It is prejudice, pure and simple'

"What about Michelle Obama?" I asked.

"Well, don't you think she's a racist?" one of them said.

"A racist? What has she ever said or done to indicate that she's a racist?"

"She doesn't have to say anything. You can tell by the look in her eyes."

It was a great speech and kudos to the camera people and control room for some masterful shots of the response to her words.

If the best the opposition has is to block voter registration and access to the polls - I suspect their tactic will fail.

She mobilized the vote last night. The best way to fight the ignorance of racism is to speak your truth at the ballot box. When will we finally consign this form of hatred to the dustbin where it belongs?

I don't know if it can be swept into the dustbin, but if each of us pushes his or her own broom, things will be cleaner. That's the best we can do, I'm afraid.
