Just to see if they're reading

I just made out the check to pay the credit card bill from the giant home improvement warehouse.

I made out the check to The Home Despot.

They are a bit despotic. You were just stating the facts.

As long as you wrote in the right numbers - it's all good, they will spend your money.

One time, my mom accidentally sent her checks to the wrong place--the credit card check went to the gas company, and the gas check went to the credit card company. The gas company cashed the credit card check (for an amount that she didn't owe)...my mom only figured out her mistake after the credit card company got ahold of her.

So, I'm thinking no one will notice. Not even the bank.

While I've moved on from writing checks now that we're in the 21st century, you may want to consider writing some whimsy on the "memo" line of the check in the future. "Back in the day", my way of "sticking it to the man" might involve writing "dirty love" or "deviant sex" on the memo portion when begrudgingly paying some faceless, mindless, souless company/person.

Now that I'm reminded of this, I may have to go back to actually writing checks. Ahhh ..., the little things.

About the only checks I write by hand any more are to charities, and well, it just seems cruel to mess with their heads.
