No matter how many times I come back to this one, I have no idea what either of these photos are and it's starting to get on my nerves. Pulled pork? A cross section of some horrible candy nougat? What?!

Head cheese. Be sure to look up the ingredients.

Yum. I'd write more, but I feel a gag session coming on.

Jonny Lang and Herbie Hancock tomorrow night, Gov't Mule Saturday. We'll be at both shows, even though we missed getting the $10 tix. Any interest?

Not a good time for a road trip. Sherry decided that four dogs isn't enough; we're dog-sitting three others, so we've got seven dogs in the house and the joint sounds like a kennel. But I want to stay here in case something goes amiss.

But if you ever hear of the Constantines or Band of Skulls coming 'round, please give me a shout.

Band of Skulls? Qu'est-ce-que c'est?

Sorry for the duplicate inquiry - Kiddo just told me he'd already asked. Ah well, at least you know we were both thinking of you guys!

Yeah, I *do* appreciate the musical thoughts. I don't know who I was telling (might have been Dick, might have been you), but listening to live music is probably the purest form of relaxation for me.

Band of Skulls is a group I first heard on a commercial for the Mustang GT that aired a lot during the Stanley Cup playoffs. I went online to find out who the band was, what the song was ("Light of the Morning"), tracked them down and downloaded their CD from Amazon for six bucks or something like that. Good, good stuff. Just basic guitar-fueled, high-energy rock 'n' roll, but their bassist is a woman, so they get some nice harmonies going. Their guy singer can sound an awful lot like Bono, too.

I'm sure those dogs are enjoying the good life at Hotel Vecchio. We'll have to check out Band of Skulls, they sound interesting.

We know we'll enjoy the Mule tomorrow, but I really hope tonight's show is a good one. I'm going more to see Jonny Lang - I've been a fan for years - but it's hard to imagine that Herbie Hancock won't deliver the goods.
