Is it in you?

Early this morning I was talking with a writer about the phrase "thoughtfully precise manner." I suggested the adverb wasn't needed because "precise" conveys the idea of thoughtfulness on its own.

This conversation was taking place in a dream.

With an infinite number of things to dream about, I was dreaming about grammar. Fortunately, this was just before I woke up. If it had started right after I fell asleep, I probably would have died overnight of tedium.

Agreed. I've had some weird dreams alright--including the reoccurring one where I play hide-and-seek with Bugs Bunny and a witch--but grammar dreams are, unfortunately, fewer and far between.

I get enough grammar in my waking hours. In fact, I need to cut back.

Isn't it weird how perfectly "mundane" some of our dream content is, while some is like Dali on drugs.

I've been doing a lot of explaining in my dreams lately. I guess it beats those awful "hiding out of fear and being found" dreams.

Explaining what?

Oh, stupid stuff - nothing even remotely interesting. Just me in some sort of "here, let me show you how to do it..." mode with sundry people known and unknown to me.
