Heard this exchange at the deli counter today:

"How much do you want?''

"A pound would be awesome."

I'm thinking a pound and a half probably would have been fatal.

Totally awesome!

P.S. I toyed with going to the film premiere, but it's the eve of hubby's golf outing and we've got a house guest arriving today and all that jazz. You still comin' up?

Yep, the road trip is still on the books. I'm hoping the weather clears so I can drive the convertible. In an unrelated matter, I can't believe when I go to Amazon that there are no reviews posted for Kensington Heights. Whiskey tango foxtrot?

A pound and a half would definitely have been fatal. Two pounds, catastrophic. Indubitably. (which is, incidentally, one of the most fun words on the tongue)

One of the great "Schoolhouse Rocks" segments focused on adverbs, and it ended with the the characters singing "indubitably" in harmony, which made it so memorable and catchy that I had the word in my vocabulary when I was about five.

Actually, if it's with a heavy-enough sledge, just the single pound could be plenty fatal.

I was tempted to hit the guy over the head with a roll of pimento loaf.
