Rooster blues

We have new neighbors a few doors down. They brought with them all manner of motorized toys: The snowmobiles are lined up in the backyard like unsold Hummers, the woods across the street are filled with the growl of four-wheelers churning mud, and the other night, the hour before sunset buzzed with the whine of a motorized scooter.

They also brought a rooster. Roosters do not only crow at dawn; they crow all day. And their cry isn't a rhythmic "cock-a-doodle-doo"; it sounds more like a member of the Vienna Boys Choir being garroted.

Maybe you could get an ice cream truck to play the "Turkey in the Straw" to accompany them.

I'm not quite sure what to make of the fact you remembered that post.

At any rate, the truck cruised the neighborhood last weekend, prompting me to wonder (again) about improvised explosive devices at curbside.

Haha. For some reason, both Chris and I remember that post. In fact, whenever we see/hear the ice cream truck, we laugh. Consider it a testament to your storytelling skills.

Eww boy... although I'm much more partial to drummers than I am to roosters.
