Beethoven's heart keeps him singin' the blues

Someone told Tchaikovsky the news

If I ever own a car with one of those bazillion-watt sound systems, I am going to cruise around with the top down (I'm a ragtop man), cranking out Beethoven and Tchaikovsky at 96 decibels.

If I were rich, I'd be tempted to buy you that kind of car ... then follow you around town watching the expressions as you blared Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. It would be worth every penny.

For the Beethoven I recommend the 2nd movement, maybe the 4th also, of his ninth symphony.

Geez, I never made that connection with Alex and his gang. You're right!

I saw the movie many, many years ago—I'm thinking in the '80s—very late at night, and I remember it as being fascinatingly disturbing. But some younger friends of my wife and I watched it upon our recommendation earlier this year, and they found it to be dated and so over-the-top violent that to them it seemed almost funny at times. What's your take on it?
