I refuse to get used to it, as life is too short for me to have to. Follow the Golden Rule : Don't be a dick (or asshole, or anything other than behave the way that you want to be treated).

No matter how righteous your own life may be, though, there are always people who, if you give them a hundred-dollar bill, would bitch because you didn't give them five 20's instead.

And I don't think it's possible, especially with jerks who are bullies at the same time. It's easy to say karma's a bitch and that they'll get theirs, but in the meantime, we stew in the vile juices of our anxiety.
