Sign me up

title or description

The bigger of my town's two video stores has a big poster in a window near the front door. It encourages people to apply for jobs and then lists three reasons they should.

It's one of those signs you glance at once and then ignore, but today, the third reason jumped off the poster at me:

Growth opportunities.

I'm going to sign up because I want to stay at the weight I'm at now but need to grow a couple of inches taller so my torso doesn't look like I've got a yard-wide Ace Bandage wrapped around it.

Back in the olden days when I was corporate america's poster child, I used to hear managers all the time talk about how 'we need to do more with less people' and ALWAYS my thought was 'I'm trying, I'm trying!! I'm dieting as hard as I can!!"

The Managing Class wouldn't get your joke.

My favorite managers' mantra is "work smarter, not harder." As if.

I don't need no stinkin' job, I've got menopause to thank for the totally awesome growth opportunities that I have, apparently, capitalized on to the max.
