Fingerprints

title or description

Uninvited, she knocks on the party door, but the revelers do not hear as they breathe mossy air, drink lime wine and nibble fern d'oeuvres.

She slips inside. Grassy music drowns jade conversations. She moves unnoticed.

The party raves on, chartreuse leaking through the windows. She takes one last twirl around the room, brushing sticky rainbow fingertips on clothes, furniture, walls, curtains.

When the merrymakers awaken, they see touches of gold, orange smears, red dots, crimson streaks, yellow splashes throughout the room, and they know: She’ll return. She always returns.
